Sultan Baig

A natural innovator, Sultan often finds himself called upon to design newer, more functional organizational models and systems.

Over the better part of the last decade, Sultan has worked on large-scale organizational transformations that involved technology, process, and people initiatives in both the public and private sectors and across many business functions. He is adept at seeing the large-scale implications of a change initiative and then drilling down to drive change at every level. Whether he is conducting sponsorship training for senior management teams or developing future state visions for business units, Sultan greets every day ready to deliver value to his clients and to learn something new.

Sultan has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon and a Master of Science degree from Boston University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time visiting his family and has a passion for cooking.


Kim Bailey

A 15-year business building veteran, Kim has guided companies through large-scale transformations in the form of organizational change, strategic planning and execution, organizational effectiveness, business process improvement/alignment, technology enablement, and new product/service delivery capability.

Kim is highly skilled at helping clients take a strategic approach toward supporting people and organizational impact resulting from restructuring, merger/acquisition activity, and global process and system changes. In addition to his consulting work, he was a founding member of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Association of Change Management Professionals and continues to find ways to learn from and provide support to various change management efforts and organizations in Portland and beyond.

Kim has worked in technology, apparel/retail, brand/design, healthcare, utilities, non-profit, and hospitality. Prior to founding 71 & Change, Kim was a partner at PeopleFirm, LLC, where he built and oversaw the firm’s largest market. Previous to that, he helped build technology companies: as a consultant with Arthur Andersen and as a client, working with startups and publicly owned software companies where he was accountable for financial and operational management, sales, client services, and solution delivery.

Kim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The University of Idaho. Outside of the office, Kim spends a fair amount of time putting his business acumen to work for the local non-profit world. He also sneaks out to the soccer field most weekends if he’s lucky.


Erin Daly

Erin is proud to be a founding member of the 71 & Change team and a recognized leader of 71 & Change’s Change Management practice.

With more than 15 years consulting experience, Erin has built a reputation as a strategic partner, trusted advisor, skilled facilitator and a successful architect of tailored change management approaches and plans. Erin’s spirited, highly dedicated, and customized approach to change management has proven successful in her work leading strategic corporate initiatives.  

Erin started her career fundraising for both causes and candidates. Within these colorful environments, Erin learned the power of thoughtful collaboration and the art of graceful tenacity.  This unique start to Erin’s career serves everyone well, as she’s particularly adept handling the inevitable delicate situations that arise out of large re-org initiatives, highly complex technical implementations, and transformative process redesign projects. Simply put, Erin knows how to ensure that impacted individuals and teams move along the “change curve” in a timely and successful manner.

Erin was on the team that founded the first US chapter of the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) in the Pacific Northwest, currently sits on the board and has served as the lead of the first three regional change management conferences.

Erin has a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University and is certified in Prosci.


John Fike

Throughout his 20 years of professional experience, John has built a reputation as a dedicated, trusted, and collaborative change management practitioner.

John has spent 12 years as a consultant, partnering with clients in a large number of industries including energy, not for profit, high tech, aerospace/defense, retail, finance and banking, professional services, distribution, and government. John’s leadership, energy and vast practical experience have been key factors in the success of many strategic corporate initiatives.

John started his career as a biologist doing cancer research at a small pharmaceutical company in San Diego. Today, that background gives John a unique ability to help clients solve problems creatively and analytically. John has learned that the path to a solution may not be perfectly clear, but if you start with the end in mind and have patience and determination, you will exceed expectations. In short, John approaches his project work like a marathon: It’s important to start strong and finish strong, and in the middle you need to stay focused, on pace, and in the moment.

John has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Menlo College and a Masters of Business Administration from Purdue University. John is trained in the Prosci Change Management methodology.

When not creating strategic communications frameworks, developing customized leadership engagement strategies, and working to ensure his clients achieve desired outcomes, John is busy raising two wonderful dogs that he treats like children. He also enjoys playing soccer, running, hiking, camping, kayaking, and other outdoor activities that the beautiful Pacific Northwest provides.


Chris Herndon

Chris believes that most everything we experience in life revolves around people and change.

Before transitioning into the professional space, he worked as personal trainer where he empowered individuals and groups to achieve their health and fitness goals. His optimism had a way of motivating others on the path towards success — a perfect foundation for his work over the last six years in insurance, talent acquisition and culture consulting where he gained robust experience in risk management, business development, coaching/development, training/facilitating, and communication.

Chris earned his BA at the University of Washington, double majoring in Political Science and Sociology and an MBA from Portland State University where he specialized in Leadership and Marketing. He is in progress of earning the Professional Coaching Certification through the International Coaching Federation. His passion for people and positive outlook on life are two of the first things you’ll notice about Chris.

Chris lives for experiences and balance, whether it is traveling to new places, hiking, trail running, camping or spending time with friends and family over some good food and drinks. He also cherishes his alone time where you’ll find him reading, writing or meditating.


Nicole Holland

Nicole is committed to helping organizations solve complex issues that affect their greatest asset —  their people.

Over the course of her decade-long career, she has developed change management strategies for high-risk initiatives and led global training programs aimed to teach teams how to use new systems and processes.

Nicole has diverse experiences in apparel, technology, utilities, child services, telecommunications, and real estate industries where she has proven her ability to adapt quickly and integrate into company cultures. Prior to joining 71 & Change, Nicole worked for a consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest where she was known for building repeat clients due to her collaborative approach, authenticity and genuine passion for helping organizations achieve business results.

Nicole earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing Management from Oregon State University and is certified in PROSCI’s Change Management methodology and tools.  

On the weekends you can likely find Nicole outdoors either running, hiking, or camping with her family and friends.


Tim Kamarul

Tim is an inventive graphic designer and visual artist with more than a decade of experience working in both private and corporate environments.

His versatile work runs from huge hand-painted graffiti murals for a global brand to inventive logos, branding and communication tools for Fortune 100 companies. His appetite for design and for the process of turning concepts into reality has led him into a variety of projects and unique partnerships. His dedication to his clients, clear communication ability, and an exceptional eye for detail ensures client satisfaction and work that is always at the highest level. Today, Tim applies that design thinking and visualization to change work that leads to greater engagement, communication and adoption.

Before moving to the United States in 2013 from Brisbane, Australia, Tim founded and ran a sign business that quickly established itself as a standout in a saturated market. He achieved this by mixing modern techniques with a traditional, hand-painted style that blurred the line between marketing and art. As the company grew, Tim created a reputation in the industry for innovation and pushing the boundaries of design.

Since moving to Portland, Tim has continued to expand his body of work by exploring new technology and new techniques. His obsession with design keeps him motivated and curious; he's always meditating about his next exciting and powerful piece of visual communication and it’s his urge to create keeps Tim’s work fresh, unique, and powerful – and makes him a joy to work with.

Tim has a Diploma of Business from the Southbank Institute of TAFE Brisbane and a Cert IV in signage from the Illawarra Institute of TAFE NSW.

He enjoys traveling, time at home with his wife and their dog, good food, and sport.


Beth Montag-Schmaltz

Beth is a recognized researcher, practitioner, innovator, and thought leader in the field of change management.

Throughout her 20-year professional journey, she has designed and managed complex change management programs for countless strategic and high-risk corporate initiatives. Beth uses her wealth of knowledge, experience, and creative energy to guide organizations and their leaders through uniquely tailored change processes designed to produce concrete returns on their investments.

In addition to founding 71 & Change, Beth was a founder of the PNW Chapter of Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) and is responsible for establishing the first US-based regional ACMP community of change practitioners. Today, Beth is pioneering advances in two unique areas of change management: developing best practices for measuring and tracking change initiatives across the enterprise and building sustainable, change-capable organizations. A respected industry author of articles and white papers, Beth provides companies with the unconventional wisdom to reach and often exceed their business goals.

Beth developed deep experience in the telecommunications industry before moving on to lead projects in high technology, non-profit, manufacturing, and financial services. Prior to 71 & Change, Beth was the co-founder and partner at PeopleFirm where she built a thriving change practice and oversaw all components of their change management solution. Before starting PeopleFirm, she was a Vice President in charge of Hitachi Consulting’s Global Organizational Change Management Practice.

Beth has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and minor in Psychology from Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio and an Executive MBA from the University of Washington. She is Prosci certified, a founding board member of the PNW Chapter of Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) and founder of the Pacific Northwest Change Alliance. She lends the same energy that she brings to her work with PeopleFirm to the Board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Puget Sound.


Jenna Train

Jenna is known for her collaborative approach and her skill at reaching stakeholders across all levels of the organization in order to implement successful change.

She has extensive global experience in strategic planning, organization and process design, training design, delivery, and employee engagement. She credits her “keep calm under pressure” approach for her career success as well as personal accomplishments. Expertise in marketing, education, sustainable business, innovation, talent management, and ERP implementations fuel her work with creativity and experience, successfully preparing and engaging organizations to work through critical and complex change.

She enjoys adventure, traveling, and learning about different cultures and languages. Jenna and her family enjoy the sports and outdoor scene that Portland has to offer, frequently sending them off to bike, hike, and camp together. A world traveler, Jenna has lived overseas three times, in Guatemala, England, Philippines and has bounced around countries in Central and South America, Europe, and Asia. She volunteers as a coach for both of her daughters’ soccer teams, in their school, and at the Oregon Food Bank.

Jenna has her Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree  with an emphasis in Psychology and Sociology from Linfield College.
